Industrial Ancillaries is a leading UK distributor of hydraulic, pneumatic, and process products. In 2014, we began offering Safety Training Courses in hydraulics and pneumatics in partnership with the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA). These courses were so successful that when we expanded our corporate headquarters in 2016, we included a brand new IA Academy training facility.
The new IA Academy features a suite of modern, well-equipped teaching and communication-oriented spaces, and a stylish relaxation area. Furthermore, the introduction of these new training facilities, coupled with an increasing demand for training, has allowed us to add new options and courses to our curriculum.
Our Heritage
Founded in 1969 by CEO Ray Harper as a family business, Industrial Ancillaries has become one of the UK’s leading distributors of industrial fittings for the hydraulics, pneumatics, and instrumentation industries.
As our company expands and develops, so do its markets. New markets include alternative fuel systems, biotech, aerospace, cryogenics, and renewable and geothermal energy. Additionally, over recent years Industrial Ancillaries’ product and service offerings have included the provision of services such as: Hose Assembly and other Workshop Services, e-Commerce, System Design Consultancy, and Conference Room Hire.
A New Direction: IA Academy
The IA Academy is a BFPA-approved Training Centre. We teach courses ranging from foundation level Hose Safety to intermediate classes in Hose Inspection and Management. Our courses aim to improve attendees’ safety awareness, knowledge, or job prospects within the industry.

In summary, from modest beginnings in a small office in Chesterfield, Industrial Ancillaries expanded into purpose-built headquarters in a brand-new commercial park, just off the M1 (J 29a). As part of our latest phase of development, we launched the IA Training Academy to promote health and safety awareness in the hydraulics and pneumatics industries.
